Jay Z is now the richest rapper, overtaking Diddy as rated by Forbes.
According to Forbes, $900m displacing Diddy who was previously number 1 but dropped with an estimated wealth of $825m (£600m).
Jay Z’s heavy investment in Cognac drink, which often features in most hip hop music videos is one of the main reason the rapper has top the list of richest rappers.
Jay Z bought a stake in Armand de Brignac and D’Ussé cognac which has seen rising global sales, hence the increase in his net worth.
Diddy fell to second on the list with a value of $825m (£600m) with Dr. Dre in third.
Dr Dre’s investments in headphones brand Beats has seen an increase in last three years. His net worth increased from $740 million to $770 million.
Meanwhile, Eminem & Canadian musician Drake tie with a $100m dollar on the list.
