*Al dente describes pasta that is cooked to be firm to the bite.
*Blanching is a cooking process wherein the food substance, usually a vegetable or fruit, is scalded in boiling water, removed after a brief, timed interval, and finally plunged into iced water or placed under cold running water to halt the cooking process
* Browning chicken is the first step in many recipes for cooking chicken. Rinse chicken; pat dry with paper towels. Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken pieces to hot oil in a single layer without crowding. Cook 8 to 10 minutes per side or until chicken is browned; remove with tongs.
* Sautee In a large pan over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and heat. Add the garlic and onions stirring, for 1 minute. Add the all of the vegetables and cook until just starting to wilt, about 2 minutes.
