On #WakeUpNigeria, he explained how it was not as easy as he thought but he is happy with where he is.
You probably don’t know Rotimi Salami, he is a Nigerian actor, producer, director and an award winner of the AMVCA2017.
“I always wanted to be an actor. I feel I am cute and when I hit the screen, I will have a presence. But it was not easy, frustration from acting led me to producing, directing and other things I do behind the scene. I am glad I went through what I went through and where I am today”
He also spoke about his first project(film) on ‘domestic violence’ he would be launching in October, which is the ‘national domestic violence month’. He noted that he did this because he wanted something that will speak of humanity and his society, also that he grew up in an environment of domestic violence.
He then commented about the film institute he is planning which he will be partnering with the Lagos state government.
“It’s been quite difficult and challenging but I believe in time and chance. It will be called ‘grassroot film institute’ which is about taking the film institute down to people. We have been working underground but some projects overtake another for good reasons. When you have made wave in a project, it will be easy to get attention for the other.”
