French youngster, Kylian Mbappe said he made the decision to join Paris Saint-Germain because of the club’s ambition as he set his sight on the Champions League title.
The 18-year old joined from Monaco on a season-long loan deal that will be made permanent for €180 million plus bonuses next summer if PSG avoid relegation this season.
The player, who made a total of 44 appearances last season scoring 26 goals in all competitions, was instrumental for Monaco who won the French Ligue 1 title, and also reached the semifinals of the Champions League.
Speaking at his unveiling at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, Mbappe said he was convinced the club will win the Champions League.
“Through hard work and humility, we will achieve our goals,” he said. “We will realise this dream of winning the Champions League.”
Mbappe’s arrival came after PSG had spent €222m to sign Neymar from Barcelona but said that was not the reason he joined the club.
“He is an additional advantage,” he said. “It is extraordinary to play with him (Neymar). However, I came for the project.”
PSG will be playing away at Metz in Ligue 1 on Friday, and Mbappe may likely make his debut.
