TVC E. Famous Nigerian actor, Kasimu Yero died yesterday afternoon on the 3rd of September 2017.
Kasimu Yero popularly knowm as ‘Uncle Gaga’ in the rested series ‘Cock crow at Dawn” passed on at age 70 at his residence, Marafan Estate, Kaduna after a protracted illness.
Kasimu was one of the early popular northern faces in Nigeria’s entertainment industry and had the flair of interpreting humorous scripts.
Although Yero was born in Zaria, he moved to Kaduna when he became of school-age to live with his grandfather, Malam Mohammed Sambo, who held the traditional title of Magajin Garin Kaduna.
Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has described the deceased as a shining star and a colossus of the creative industry.
El-Rufai, in a statement signed by his spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, said the veteran actor would be missed by all.
He said; ‘Yero’s talent and contributions to culture brought him national fame’.
He will also be remembered for his role in the NTA drama series, “Magana Jarice” in Hausa, which means ‘Wisdom is an asset’
Yero, who was buried at Bachama Road Cemetry in Kaduna, is survived by eight children.
