Speaking extensively on the recent reduction of cut off marks to get into Nigerian universities, Oludotun Sodunke highlighted that the move is in the direction to extort money from Nigerian students.
Oludotun who spoke with the ladies of #YourViewTVC on Wednesday 30th of August, referred to excuses given by Jamb officials as ‘flimsy’.
“There are beneficiaries of the policy meeting. First the university community makes so much money from post utme: allowing them to do post utme is give and take. We have given you post utme to make money and they have practically turned the students and their parents to ‘maga’. They make so much money from them, so if they reduce Jamb cut off mark to 50, they are even happier.
“The second beneficiary of the policy meeting is the seemingly moribund private universities. they are the ones that will take in the 120 for medicine students.

“The third beneficiary is the jamb itself. As we speak it is part of the policy that change of institution form portal will be open from now till January and the admission process. So by the time you are not taken in unilag, unilag must have collected the post utme money from you, then the next thing, you will now think LASU will help you, you will now change and pay another 2500 on the portal. definitely, an average student not given admission will change.

“The Carriage capacity of our schools are falling. The carriage capacity should be increased i;e more facilities, infrastructure and so on.

Lecturers are also moving out because of the carriage capacity.”
