“Cooking is a work of art. It’s not about tasting seasoning cubes, you have to be creative.” Miyonse Amosu declares as he goes through the process of making couscous and orange chilli glaze chicken on TVC’s breakfast show #WakeUpNigeria.
Couscous is a small steamed balls of crushed durum wheat semolina, usually served with a stew or sauce. Couscous is a north african stable usually found in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia e.t.c.
Miyonse however revealed that couscous is healthier than white/green rice and it contains 176 calories.
In order to add a better flavour, Miyonse adviced that italian seasoning should be used in preparation of the ‘Orange chilli glaze chicken’.
Quick procedure in making the ‘Orange chilli glaze chicken’;
1. Add your fresh orange juice,
2. Add the chille sauce,
3. Make your glaze seperately.-
4. Add italian seasoning to your chicken,
5. Pan stir the chicken with a little olive oil and and your glaze after which you put in the oven.
Procedure in making ‘Couscous’;
1. Boil water
For each cup of dry couscous, use 3 1/4 cups of water. Bring to boil in saucepan.
2.Add salt and oil or butter
Add 1/2 tsp. salt to the water and a little olive oil or butter if desired, to add moisture.
3.Add couscous and let steam
Pour 1 cup couscous into boiling water, stir once with a spoon, cover with a lid, and remove from heat. Let the couscous steam for five minutes.
4.vegetables
Add green beans, carrot and butter to a clean pan watch it seammer, add couscous and stir.
With these, your ‘Couscous and orange chilli glaze chicken’ is ready.
