Video Director and Production Consultant, Dejo Richards has said that the creativity of film and music video makers should not be limited in video production.
This is following the ban by government that music videos should not be shot abroad but in Nigeria, in order to promote the economy.
Speaking in an interview with TVC News, the video director said, “film and video producers leave Nigeria to shoot abroad because of the cost, logistics, infrastructure and so on.”
Richards explained that the creative idea of a film or video producer should be respected and they should be allowed to shoot their movies according to their script.
He said that, “the budget of a movie is based on the script and the location depends on what you want to tell.”
Richards further stated that, the Big Brother Nigeria was not shot in Nigeria because the producers seek a country with social facilities such as electricity supply, infrastructure and so on.
His words : “For instance, programmes like’Big Brother Nigeria” are not shot in Nigeria, they shot them in South Africa, because of social facilities such as electricity supply, infrastructure and so on.”
Dejo however call for national orientation on film production and appealed to the government to collaborate with filmmakers to enhance the improvement of movies.
