Religious and traditional leaders in Yobe state north east Nigeria have converged in Geidam community to address issues aimed at countering extremism among the peoples living in the state.
The programme was Organised by the Yobe state Ministry for Religious Affairs in collaboration with the North East Regional Initiative.
The session had in attendance security agencies, government organizations, and youth groups.
It aims to examine the causes of Boko Haram insurgency and how best to tackle extremism through tolerance, harmony and good foresight.
