The actor died Saturday morning following his battle with heart related illness.

‘Chief Koko’ as he was also known for his role in TV series, Koko Close, died on his way to the hospital on Saturday.

His personal assistant was with him when he passed on, on their way to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Nigeria.

Bakare was discharged from the hospital last year after he was diagnosed with a respiratory disorder infection.

He continued to receive treatment indoors when he reportedly could not afford expensive hospital bills.

The 65-year-old actor, who also featured in Funke Akindele’s 2011 drama, Maami, is more popular for his roles in Koko Close and the Papa Ajasco TV series.

However, since news of his passing came up, Nigerians have been reacting to the sad development.
