Collective management organisation : COSON dismisses MSCN’s approval

Copyright society of Nigeria COSON has dismissed the approval of Musical society of Nigeria as a collective management organization on behalf of musicians in Nigeria.

Touted as the ‘sole collective management organization’ in the country, COSON Chairman Tony Okoroji disputes the alleged order of the Attorney-General of the Federation that Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria Ltd (MCSN) be approved as another collecting society.

COSON is demanding for the immediate withdrawal of any letter suggesting that MCSN) has been approved to collect royalties on behalf of musicians and other music industry key-players.
