A 50-year-old pastor identified as Stephen Adeyoju, was on Thursday arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrate’s Court for alleged impersonation.
The accused is facing trial on a count charge of impersonation.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Lamidi Rasak, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 15, 2016 at about 3.50p.m. at the zonal headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force located on Gbongan-Ibadan expressway.
Rasak said that Adeyoju falsely informed the police he is a public servant.
He said the offence contravened section 192 of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun, 2004.
The accused however pleaded not guilty to the count charge preferred against him. His counsel Mr Samuel Popoola, prayed the magistrate to grant his client bail on liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Fatima Sodamade, granted bail the accused bail on personal recognition and urged him to deposit two passports size photographs attached with an affidavit of means with the court.
