Some youths from Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo state are threatening to drag the Federal Government to court for not appointing somebody from the area on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC ).
The people of the oil- rich area also want the government to tackle different problems in their communities, which include lack of portable water and electricity.
Ilaje, an oil producing community in Ondo state, South West Nigeria is an area begging for government attention.
Many people of the area live along the beaches and swampy terrains of the Nigerian coast.
Taiwo Orisabinone , is a legal practitioner from the area believes the refusal of the Federal Government to appoint someone from the area on the NDDC board, is hampering development of Ilaje communities .
He said the people of the area may seek legal action to drive home their point, but not before exhausting other options.
Other youths in the area also gave the federal government an ultimatum to do the needful.
The youths insist that the failure of the government to do the needful may cause unnecessary tension in the area.
