Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has blamed the continued xenophobic attacks in South Africa on failure of leadership.
He made this known while meeting with the alumni association of the Nigerian Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential library complex in Abeokuta.
The former president said the current development in South Africa betrayed the struggle for the emancipation of the country against apartheid by other countries in the continent.
He also charged Nigeria and other African countries to develop their countries and reduce poverty in order to guide against their citizens being treated like criminals.
