Eight people have been killed and dozens others injured in the latest attack by herdsmen on Mkgovur village in Benue State.
The rampaging herdsmen reportedly invaded the community armed with guns and machetes, and police have confirmed the incident.
Reasons for the attack are still unclear, but the leader of the Benue State chapter of Cattle rearers Association of Nigeria attributes the attack to the villagers’ defiance to allow the herders stay in their community.
Villagers in Dogo are leaving their community to safer areas to avoid being caught in any attack.
