Defence Counsel in Fani-Kayode’s trial asks court to disqualify itself

Counsel to the 2nd defendant in the on-going trial involving a former minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode and Nenadi Usman has asked the court to recuse itself from the trial.
He said the court is not constituted, to grant the defendant fair trial since the judge is likely to be biased having worked with the EFCC in the past.

The defence team also argued for severance and a transfer of the matter to Abuja, where the crime was allegedly committed.

But the prosecution insisted that a charge can be preferred in a place other than where the crime was committed.
