Twenty three non-career ambassadorial nominees out of forty six have been screened by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, as the process kicked off on Tuesday.
At the hearing, five former Senators and House of Representatives members were automatically asked to “bow and go”, in line with Senate tradition.
TVC News Sumner Sambo reports that Federal lawmakers took time to educate them on the screening procedures and to assure them of fair play.
When the screening started, nominees were grilled on national issues, ways to attract foreign direct investment to Nigeria and international affairs.

At the end of the first day, twenty three non-career ambassador nominees out of forty six were screened by the committee despite power outage at the venue.
