The police in Ondo state have again shut the state House of Assembly complex, just as the embattled speaker, Jumoke Akindele insists that her impeachment is illegal.
Akindele, who addressed reporters at her residence in Akure, the state capital, exonerated Governor-elect, Rotimi Akeredolu of blame, in her removal, but blamed some of his supporters for her travails.
TVC’s Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that barely ten days after a palace coup, executed by some members of Ondo state House of assembly leading to the impeachment of the speaker, Jumoke Akindele and two other principal officers, the police in the state have continued to shut the complex.
This is the second time the assembly complex will be sealed in two weeks, after a protest by some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The embattled speaker has continued to react to her purported impeachment by some of her colleagues.
Jumoke Akindele faulted her purported impeachment, which she described as illegal, insisting that only 2/3 of the lawmakers can remove her.
She however exonerated the Governor-Elect, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) from her predicament, but accused some of his supporters of complicity in the plot.
Akindele wondered why some of her colleagues were too desperate to remove her.
She also took time to exonerate herself from the Fifteen million naira caught with the pay master of the House.
The embattled speaker is also considering move to reconcile both factions in the house, towards putting an end to the crisis rocking the assembly.
