Flamboyant TV presenter and fashion icon, Denrele Edun, has replaced Kokomaster, Dbanj as the co-host of Lip Sync Battle Africa.
Denrele took over officially from Dbanj who was the season one host. Now that Dbanj’s contract is over, Denrele is now in the big picture.
The popular Tv show is to continue without Dbanj who also co-hosted with South African actress, Pearl Thusi. As the season two of Lip Sync Battle Africa premieres on MTV Base come April 6, 2017.
Denrele will be playing the role of ‘colour commentator’ on the show, adding observations and keeping the show alive while South African actress, Pearl Thusi will continue as host.
Denrele, a known face in the music business, has interviewed the likes of Akon, Beyonce, Tyler Perry, Lil’ Kim, Snoop Dogg and others.
Famous in Nigeria for his OTT calculated madness and edgy eccentricity, Denrele was himself a contestant on Lip Sync Battle Africa in Season 1, where he battled against fellow TV personality Ebuka, losing out narrowly, despite storming performances of “Johnny” by Yemi Alade and Jamiroquai’s 90s hit, “Virtual Insanity”.
