Nigerian Airforce says its fighter jets have successfully intercepted a group of Boko Haram fighters moving in a vehicle mounted with anti aircraft gun.
The armed vehicle was sighted at Talala in Northern Borno by an intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft on patrol and then called for strike by combat platform.
Group captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, the Airforce public relations officer said two alpha jets were immediately deployed to the location and the insurgents fled at the sight of the attacking aircraft.
Their vehicles were said to be engulfed in an inferno and the operation was declared successful by by the airforce.
