Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam says the desire of his administration to accelerate economic development informed its decision to undertake the construction and reconstruction of roads in various communities across the state.
Yobe state Correspondent Michael Oshomah reports that Yobe state capital is now a sprawling modern metropolis with good road
network, an improved water supply system, better health-care facilities and a better drainage system.
Work is ongoing in Damaturu on its township roads.
The purpose of this reconstruction and overlaying is to decongest traffic within the capital city.
In spite of the rapid development the Gaidam administration is putting in place for people of the state, some people still say it is waste of resources.
But the Commissioner for works , Shettima Ali , had this to say on the issue.
The Manager supervising the road project threw more light on the importance of the reconstructed major roundabout.
Governor Gaidam stated in a recent speech and i quote “As Yobe is gradually transforming, in no time , the people of the state would see the transformation dream i have for a new Yobe” .
