The Wife of the Assistant Police chief in Asaba has appealed to the federal government to renovate all decayed barracks in the country.
Hajiya Fatima Adamu said the women on their part are ready to support the government achieve this objective.
Correspondent Carl Ofonye reports that it was on the occasion of the flag-off of Barracks Sanitation and Change begins with me at the police barracks in Asaba that the visiting AIG’s wife chose to call on the federal government to give the barracks a face lift.
The Zone Five AIG’s spouse was obviously irked by the sight of some totally dilapidated structures she met in the barracks where she was being hosted and she did not pretend about it.
Earlier in her welcome address, wife of Delta State Commissioner of Police, Hajiya Sadiya Zanna Ibrahim expressed the willingness of women in the barracks in the State to do their bit to ensure a clean environment always.
Hajiya Sadiya who is the Chairperson of Police Officers Wives’ Association POWA in Delta State, says the wives of the Police men have been enlightened on the need to keep their environment clean.
The programme launch was attended by members of Police Officers Wives’ Association, POWA and Police Wives Association PWA from across the length and breadth of the State. And it featured training sessions for the women on how to use the various sanitation implements brought by POWA authorities.
It also featured lectures on how the Police personnel and their families can keep a healthy lifestyle.
