Troops from the One Mechanized Division of the Nigerian army have intercepted two men carrying live bullets in Kagoma Chiefdom in Southern Kaduna.
The middle aged men were in a maroon colored Volkswagen vehicle, and were driving in front of the Sarkin Kagoma’s palace.
But they ran out of luck, as General Officer Commanding of the Division, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade amid the troops were in the palace for peace talks with the elders.
The troops subsequently beckoned on the bullet carrying men, but they declined to stop.
They then approached them, only to discover there were live rounds and improved explosive devices in the vehicle.
The bullet carrying youth have been arrested for interrogation.
In the meantime, leaders in Southern Kaduna are worried over the renewed unrest in the area.
But they hope an end will soon be in sight to the killings.
