A group known as the United Action for change have called on the state Houses of Assembly to commence impeachment proceeding against state governors who arbitrarily dissolve elected local government and appoint caretaker councils in violation of the 1999 constitution.
The group in a chat with newsmen in Lagos further called for an amendment of the constitution granting full autonomy to the 3rd tier of government.
The united action for change also known as change Nigeria speaking thru its leaders further threatened court action to fight for the autonomy of local Governments.
