Let us work together as one, disunity is affecting us-Kunle Afolayan

TVC E. Nollywood movie maker, Kunle Afolayan has pleaded with film makers to come together and work as one stating that there is unity.

Speaking at the 20th anniversary celebration of the death of his father and legendary film-maker, Adeyemi Afolayan (Ade Love), Afolayan said that the industry is worse off because of the division in Nigeria’s creative industry.

He said ‘Now we have Nollywood, we have Yoruba, we have this, we have that.’

According to him, his late father worked for the unity of the industry and the current segregation was unwarranted.

The Yoruba film-making industry especially has split into several factions including Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) and Theatre and Motion Picture Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) all claiming to represent the interest of Yoruba creatives.
