A first class traditional ruler in Delta State kidnapped on Wednesday on his way to Asaba has been rescued.
The traditional ruler in Warri South local government was rescued through the combined efforts of the Nigerian Police and a vigilante outfit.
When interviewed, the obviously traumatized traditional ruler described the hours he spent with the hoodlums as hell on earth.
The Ovie also narrated how the hoodlums he suspected to be Fulani herdsmen stripped him of all his royalty and made him to eat outside his home which is a taboo in most kingdoms in the South-South region of Nigeria.
The Ovie said he cannot thank the Police and the Ussisa vigilance group enough for their prompt action that saved his life. He equally expressed appreciation to the state governor and his colleagues in the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council for showing concern while his ordeal lasted.
