Corps Members should disclose correct health status before mobilization – NYSC DG

TVC E. Recently Nigerians began to call on the Federal Government to stop the National Youth Service Corps Scheme following the death of three corps members.

There were allegations of negligence on the part of the NYSC staff, but it was denied by the agency.

Following the incident, the NYSC DG, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, has called on all corps members to disclose correct health status before mobilization.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has insisted that prospective Corps members must give correct details of their health before mobilization.

While addressing the Batch ‘B’ (stream 1) Corps members in Anambra and Delta states, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, said providing this information will ensure that those with special health conditions are posted in their states of residence.

Kazaure disclosed that some of the members of the NYSC hide their health status for no known reason while registering on the scheme’s portal.

It has been an unhappy period for the National Youth Service Corps, which recently lost three of its members to due to health issues, 2 of which were first class graduates.
