President Muhammadu Buhari is delighted about the appointment of Nigeria’s Minister for the Environment, Amina Mohammed as the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations.
The president congratulated the in-coming Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres during a phone call, and said Nigeria has been honoured by Amina Mohammed’s appointment.
President Buhari thanked Mohammed for her untiring contribution to transform Nigeria and said he looks forward to a sustained collaboration between the UN and Nigeria.
She is expected to transition to her new role in March.
