A five-man panel of Supreme Court justices led by the acting Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen has struck out another appeal filed by the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The motion was contesting a court of appeal’s decision that allowed Eyitayo Jedege to be party in the case challenging the judgment of Justice Okon Abang of the federal high court.
The Court struck out the motion on the grounds that it has been overtaken by yesterday’s judgment of the Appeal Court which recognized Jegede as the authentic candidate of the PDP instead of Jimoh Ibrahim for Saturday’s Ondo governorship election.
The Supreme Court is yet to fix a date to hear the appeals filed by Sheriff’s faction, challenging the judgment of the appeal court yesterday that allowed INEC to recognize Jegede.
