The League Management Company (LMC) has proposed the 11th of December as the kick-off date for the new Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, season.
This date will have to be ratified by the NFF congress at its Annual General Assembly, AGA.
Officials want the league season to be brought in sync with what is obtainable in most in Europe and an early kick-off will also make Nigerian teams on the continent match fit.
Relegated clubs are Giwa FC, who were expelled after breaching the rules and regulations of the competition, Ikorodu United, Warri Wolves and Heartland.
The clubs promoted to the top flight are Gombe United, Katsina United, and Remo Stars.
