TVC E. Oluwayeni Anikulapo-Kuti dancer, singer and descendant of the popular Ransome-Kuti family said, her father did not write his ‘will’ before dying. And she believes people should not live to depend on the wealth of their parents as it can cause chaos when they are gone.
Yeni Ketu while co-hosting on YourView TVC Show on the 3rd of November 2016, with the topic ‘leaving inheritance for your children’ also said, ”even though my father did not write his will before dying, he left inheritance for us not to sell but to keep the legacy going”. she also advised her daughter to work for herself and not rely on her wealth. she believes making your children understand that your wealth is for them, will make them lazy instead of working for themselves and become a better person.
What do you think about leaving your inheritance for your children, since the bible said: A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
Yeni continued by saying, Inheritance is not for you to start your life with. If it is there, it is for you to continue your life with.
Most Parents spend lots of money and invest in profitable assets in order to prepare their children for a better future while some choose to donate their wealth to charity citing that their generation should create their own wealth. According to them, they want the children to work hard like they did.
We ask, do we really need to leave an inheritance for our children, rather than giving them the opportunity to work for their own?
