The Defence Minister, Mansur Muhammad Dan-Ali described the death of Lt. Col Abu-Ali as tragic and unfortunate development in the theatre of operations.
The Honourable Minister received the sad news while in Sokoto and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the war hero an eternal rest.
Defence Minster described Ltcol Abu-Ali as a major pillar in the war against terrorism and insurgency in the North East. He also expresses his condolences to the father of the deceased Etsu of Bassa- Nge Kingdom (Kogi state) Brig Gen Abu-Ali (Rtd), his young family and the Nigerian Army.
Following series of human right abuses in some Internally Displaced Persons IDPs camps in the country the Senate Committee on Special Duties has commended the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for continued humanitarian services in the country.
The Chairman of the committee, Sen. Abdulazeez Nyako , made the commendation during an oversight visit to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Damare, Yola, Adamawa.
Nyako, who led his team on inspection tour to the camps said the committee had visited various camps in Borno and Adamawa and was satisfied and convinced on the way the agency was conducting its affairs.
Mr. Sa’ad Bello, the Head Operation Office, Yola who spoke earlier, said that the number of the IDPs had significantly dropped from over 60,000 to l8,958 in Adamawa as many have voluntarily returned to home.
