Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has lent his voice to the on going call for Nigerians to patronise made in Nigeria products.
He also challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to make it a National Policy that will be adhered to by all arms and tiers of government, starting with the Presidency.
Ikpeazu made these remarks in an interview with state house correspondents in Abuja.
And still on patronage of home grown goods, Ikpeazu charged Nigerians to also switch to eating more of locally produced foods in order to support the Federal Government’s measures to diversify the economy from sole dependence on oil to Agriculture.
It was also an opportunity for the Abia state Governor to speak on the forthcoming December 17th Local Government election in his state, expressing optimism that his party will win.
Governor Ikpeazu recently delivered some made in Nigeria shoes to former President Olusegun Obasanjo as a way of promoting Made in Aba products.
He was up beat that the Nigerian Army’s recent decision to purchase 50,000 pairs of shoes from a local manufacturer in Aba, could point the way out of the prevailing economic recession in the country, if other agencies of government follow suit.
