The Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode has called for support for the second edition of the Lagos City Marathon which will hold as part of the 50-year celebration of the state.
Unveiling plans for the marathon, Governor Ambode, says the race will hold on the 11th of February 2017.
More than 30, 000 athletes took part in the first edition this year, but the next edition is expected to attract more than 50,000 runners.
Abraham Kipton of Kenya won the inaugural edition with athletes from within and outside Africa competing.
