In its continued fight to rid the state of crime and criminality, the Abia state police command through the instrumentality of its newly adopted strategies, has smashed an inter state armed robbery gang who specialise in car snatching.
According to the Commissioner of Police in the state Leye Oyebade while briefing newsmen during the parade of about 24 suspects for various violent crimes which includes Rape, Murder, kidnapping, house burgling and car stealing among others said that the continuous successes is as a result of new strategy with special focus on quick and timely response to crime scenes and distress calls.
The police boss maintained that if the members of the public continue with the new vigour of feeding them with useful and prompt information, the police has the man power to keep the state crime free.
Mister Oyebade posited that the police has spread it’s dragnet to all over the state and even to neighbouring states with a view to ensuring that the other fleeing suspects are arrested and prosecuted.
