About seven persons escaped death by the whiskers at Odokoyi market in Akure, the Ondo state capital, when a commercial vehicle rammed into some road-side traders.
The victims of the road accident are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals in Akure.
TVC’s Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that if not for providence, many road-side traders at the Odokoyi market in the
heart of Akure, the capital of Ondo state, would have been dead.
The traders and some buyers were hit by the driver of a commercial vehicle, who lost control and ran into them.
Eye witnesses told TVC news that the vehicle’s brake system failed before hitting the traders. Officials of the state task force on environment who visited the scene, blamed the accident on street trading.
They warned residents of the state to desist from street trading which they say is unlawful.
TVC news visited one of the hospitals where some of the victims are currently receiving treatment.
Although, the driver escaped from the scene, his vehicle has been impounded and moved to A division of the Nigerian police.
