The National leadership of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) has thrown its weight behind the candidature of Olusola Oke as the Governorship candidate of the party in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo state.
This is contrary to a communique issued by some aggrieved members of the party who were against the choice of Oke.
The Party’s National Vice Chairman, North East, Magaji Kwairanga, at a news conference in Akure, the Ondo state capital affirmed that Oke is the authentic candidate of the party.
Kwairanga dispelled Friday’s communique issued by some aggrieved leaders of the party after an emergency meeting in Akure to discredit Oke.
He cautioned that misunderstanding between among some persons within the party should not be stretched to destroy the chances of the party, especially in the forthcoming election in the state.
He said that Oke and his running mate, Gani Daudu have fulfilled all criteria as spelt out by their party constitution and INEC guidelines.
The state Secretary of the party, Sola Agboola accused some politicians of sponsoring some members of the AD to destroy the party.
