Weeks after Nigeria’s impressive outing at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, Team Nigeria Paralympic athletes have cried out to President Muhammadu Buhari to appreciate them for their performance.
Nigerian paralympians won 8 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals to redeem the country’s name after a shoddy outing at the Rio Olympics.
But one of the athletes, Lauritta Onye, who won gold said weeks after returning from Brazil, the Federal Government is yet to make any pronouncement on their performance.
Team Captain, Lucy Ejike who also won Gold pleaded with the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung to forward their case to President Buhari.
She said the athletes should be given the necessary recognition.
