House Committee on Aviation plans to have a public hearing on the state of Nigeria’s aviation sector with particular reference to the dwindling fortunes of the local airlines.
Chairman of the committee Nkiruka Onyejeocha says it would enable the house to proffer solutions on how to take the sector out the woods.

At Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, the legislators sought to find out the level of domestic airlines’ compliance with regulations to ensure safe flight operations.
Nigerian Airspace Management Agency also had its share of the on the spot assessment as the law makers demanded to know the issues with safety and surveillance of the airspace.
The House members also assessed the 2015/2016 appropriation, release of funds to the parastals and the impact of the current recession on their operations. It is hoped that the visit would usher in a higher level of efficiency from the airline operators and parastatals to the benefit of Nigeria and its citizens.
