The Federal Government is collaborating with local and international partners including the British Council and the Tony Elumelu foundation to enhance the capacity of festival managers.
Addressing journalist in Abuja on the forthcoming 2016 NAFEST festival in Uyo, the Minister of information says that apart from training, the initiative will map the various arts and cultural festivals across the country in a deliberate effort to turn festivals into economic entities.
According to him, the annual National Festival of Arts and culture has evolved from being just an instrument of national Unity to becoming a platform to help boost the level of economic activities in the Country.
The Festival, which will commence on 2nd of October to the 9th of October will attract participants from the thirty -six states of the country as well as the federal capital.
