Nigeria opened their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup campaign with a 1-nil loss to Brazil and Ghana were hammered 5-0 by Japan as African teams continued their losing run at the competition in Jordan.
16-year-old striker Micaelly grabbed the match winner for Brazil three minutes from half time.
It was a keenly contested game with the South Americans having 51 per cent of the possesion.
Nigeria’s next match will be on Tuesday against England.
In another match, Ghana were spanked 5-0 by Japan.
Cameroon has also lost 3-2 to Canada on Friday.
