AIG to police officers: Checking vehicle particulars is illegal

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in Charge of Zone 11, Dan Bature has emphasized that Police officers have no business checking vehicle particulars.

He said this at the state Ojo State Police command headquarters, Eleyele,  Ibadan during a two day working visit to Oyo State.

Dan Bature harped on the need to restore public confidence through proper conduct in the discharge of their constitutional  duties.

The AIG who oversees security  affairs in Oyo, Ondo and Osun states charged the police to key into the change mantra of the current administration so that the citizenry can take them seriously.

Bature also warned against the erection of road blocks along major highways across the country, urging his men to wash their hands off practices that are not in conformity with police service rules.

The leadership of the police plans to embark on regular training and retraining of the zonal anti robbery outfit so that they can discharge their duties with professionalism.
