American rapper, Coolio has been arrested after a loaded firearm was found in a carry-on bag during security screening at Los Angeles International Airport.
The ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ hit-maker, who has one of the weirdest hairstyles in showbiz, was arrested at Los Angeles Airport on Saturday for allegedly trying to get a stolen gun through security, it has been reported.
Airport police say an investigation found the bag contained items that belonged to the man’s travelling companion who passed through the screening area and boarded an aircraft.
Officers found the other man, later identified as Coolio, and booked him on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a felon. He was booked as 53-year-old Artis Leon Ivey Jr. of Las Vegas.
In a video shared on Twitter, the star thanked fans for support as he enjoyed dinner in a restaurant.
Coolio told the camera, ‘I don’t know what’s going to be the result of this in the future but for now I’m fine and I appreciate everybody’s concerns.’
He added, ‘We gotta push on and try to forward, forward hip-hop.’
The rapper was arrested alongside another man after the gun was discovered in the screening, police have said.
