A new short film titled, ‘Happy Birthday Video’ has been released to commemorate the death of Philando Castile and honor the victims directly impacted by his death.
The short film which is the second installment of a proposed series called “The Happy Birthday Project” features conversations with some of his closest family and friends.
Philando Castile who was a nutrition services supervisor at J. J. Hill Montessori Magnet School, was shot by a police officer in July 2016, while driving with his girlfriend and her 4-year old daughter as passengers.
‘Happy Birthday Video’ was filmed ten days after Castile’s death and was orchestrated by a collaborative effort of Even/Odd Films, Blackout for Human Rights and The Center for Black Male Achievement.
It was directed by Mohammad Gorjestani and produced by Malcolm Pullinger.
