Sani Danja incurs wrath of Bimbo Akintola in Prof. Johnbull

TVC E. Philandering Sani Danja got more than he bargained for within the week as he was pummeled by Bimbo Akintola, Bidemi Kosoko and Mama G’s daughter at the residence of Nollywood great, Kanayo O. Kanayo.

This was the highlight of Episode 6 of Globacom-sponsored TV drama series Professor Johnbull, which was aired on Tuesday and Friday. The edition named Half Bread and Puff Puff once again dwelt on a social ill, this time the issue of preference for overseas-based husbands. This has wrecked the lives of many young girls, who got ‘married’ to Nigerian men who live overseas without knowing that the men were already married to “oyinbo” wives abroad.

Danja who played the role of Malik, a Casanova, who just arrived from Spain is enamoured by the local beauty, Ufoma, (Bimbo Akintola), who had had a terrible experience with a Europe returnee who impregnated her and ran away. She was just recovering from the trauma when Malik comes along to propose marriage to her. This does not go down well with her, and while they are at it, Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko) who is standing nearby with her “toaster” Flash, cashes in on the opportunity to snatch Malik.

She turns the toaster and convinces Malik to switch his affections to her. The lover boy promptly proposes marriage to Jumoke right on the spot and they head for Olaniyi’s restaurant to celebrate.

All the actors later assemble at the residence of Professor Johnbull (Kanayo O. Kanayo) to resolve the issue. Here, Madam Christiana (Mama G) and her daughter share their experiences about overseas-based Nigerian men who return to the country to prey on unsuspecting girls, impregnate them and abscond to Europe to be with their ‘oyinbo’ wives.

Malik is unmasked as a married man by Udo Etuk (Ime Bishop) in whose hotel he (Malik) had lodged. He had overheard Malik making a call to his European wife. In anger, Jumoke, Ufoma and Mama G’s daughter descend on the lover boy, throwing punches and kicks at him for toying with their emotions.

Expectedly, the bombastic Professor Johnbull summoned a meeting of all the parties in his house “for the exponential deconstruction of the love affairs” and at the meeting, Madam Christiana, one of the erudite Professor’s neighbours, come with her daughter to expose more escapades of the “ghost workers” husbands like Malik and their tail of woes. The commotion that ensued when the three victims, Ufoma, Jumoke and Madam Christiana’s daughter descended on Malik, giving him the beating of his life, underscored the pains of jilted Nigerian ladies by foreign husband
