Heartland and Abia Warriors boosted their survival hopes following impressive wins in their re-scheduled Nigerian Professional Football League fixtures on Wednesday.
Heartland beat Niger Tornadoes 2-0. Captain, Chinedu Efugh, put his side ahead five minutes before the break, while Chidiebere Ajoku scored the second 20 minutes before time.
The Naze Millionaires who have now garnered 40 points remain 18th on the table.
Tornadoes with the defeat are the only side yet to pick a point on the road in the NPFL this season.
Elsewhere, Abia Warriors defeated local rivals Enyimba 3-1 in Umuahia.
The hosts moved from 17th to 14th in the table with the win.
Kano Pillars secured a narrow 1-0 win over northern rivals El-Kanemi Warriors with a goal by Rabiu Ali from the spot after 15 minutes.
