Vice President Yemi Oshibajo has asked Nigerians not to be pessimistic about the nation’s economy assuring that the current recession will soon be over.
The Vice President gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen immediately after the 8th convocation of the Redeemer’s University, Ede in Osun state.
Professor Oshibajo said the economic recession occurred partly because of the vandalisation of pipelines leading to loss of 60 percent of gas and revenue.
He promised that the country will soon be out of the recession once the pipeline vandalisation is curtailed and the prices of crude oil in the international market are stable.
The vice president also said that government is also working assiduously on diversifying the economy and encourage the private sector to invest in the petroleum industry.
