The Imo State Government has granted pardon to hundreds of militants terrorising Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas of the state.
Speaking in Owerri capital of Imo State,Governor Rochas Okorocha urged the repentant militants to sin no more now that they have been reintegrated into the society.
Our Correspondent Saturday Ochia reports that Governor Okorocha also promised to take steps necessary to make life better for them.
The Governor used the opportunity to ask security operatives in the areas to lay down their arms, adding that their presence in Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas from now henceforth is only to keep peace.
In the recent times, the oil producing areas of Imo state have being bedeviled by stiff restiveness.
The restiveness of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta has been a major challenge to security of life,property and development of the areas which make it difficult for investors.
The repentant militants who came in their large numbers surrendered their arms and promised not to go back to the creeks again.
