The Socio Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP in Lagos called for an investigation into the health sector in Nigeria in a bid to checkmate the sharp practices in the sector.
Between 1999 to 2014 more than two trillion naira that’s about 6 billion dollars has been spent for the health sector in the country with
no positive impact.
This is contained in a report made available to the media on Thursday by In the more than seventy page report, entitled, ‘Health in decline: Human Rights impacts of corruption in Nigeria Health Sector,’ SERAP revealed that an additional three hundred and eighty million euro, six hundred million dollars was also contributed by foreign partners to the sector.
They say with this revelation, the APC led government has no alternative than to investigate the health sector.
