Following the successful release of the full Nominees List for the 2016 All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, the African Union Commission, AUC, and the International Committee of AFRIMA have entered into partnership with Felabration 2016.
Felabration is the annual festival organised to celebrate late Afrobeat creator, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
AFRIMA disclosed its readiness to support Felabration 2016 as it has over the years promote indigenous music of both the young and old musicians in Africa.
The music festival was conceived in 1998 by Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti in memory and celebration of her father Fela Kuti.
The one-week-long event attracts visitors from different countries and has thus been considered as an official tourist destination by the Lagos State Government.
The event features musical performances from top music acts from Nigeria and guest appearances from internationally acclaimed musicians and personalities.
It also consists of street parades, symposia on social and topical issues, debates and photo exhibitions.
